Now classified as a Waldzither from the 18th C., this instrument was originally advertised for e-Bay auction as "A highly important early German or Swiss 'Halszither' (Cittern), ca. 1650, in all original condition, never restored, bridge missing, the peghead for 9 pegs, the pine top with cracks, a 2cm x 5cm piece of the top is missing, back and sides of pine with some cracks, scale 41.5 cm, nut 5cm. If you are wondering what kind of basement is shown on the last pictures of our photo gallery, it is the inside of the instrument."
